Family photography absolutely has my heart. To me, there is nothing better than watching a family unit interact in front of the camera. I fall in love with the love they show each other. It’s easy to adore what you do for a living when what you do for a living is so full of love and laughter. There’s no better example of a family session that this touching lifestyle family photography session I had the pleasure of shooting, here in Ellsworth, Kansas.

A Mother’s Love
This session was made possible by a champion of a woman, and blessing of a mother. I absolutely adore the sweet moments between this special lady and her kids. You can see the love pouring out of their sweet little eyes, and it’s all for her.
Getting to capture moments like these is a major part of why I love lifestyle photography so much. These shots aren’t posed, not every hair is in place, but they are full of emotion and can bring a smile to anyone’s face. I mean look at those grins. Who wouldn’t get a little flutter in their heart witnessing a moment like that?

Family Photography – And Why it Matters
Looking back on family photos is a pastime that spans generations – and won’t stop any time soon. Sure, we have camera rolls full of curated pictures of our loved ones and littles, but how often do those photos end up on our walls?
It’s massively impactful to a family home to see pictures of the members of the family on the walls. Studies have proven time and again that seeing family photos hung improves the confidence of everyone in the home, and decreases loneliness.
On top of all that, photographers get to capture moments that would otherwise slip by. When a lifestyle family session is over, families get an album full of sweet, candid moments that feel real. And now, people can look back on actual moments of time where siblings, parents, and partners were showing love to one another.

If anyone needs family photos or any photos at all get ahold of Sam Highsmith. She was wonderful with me and the kids and is SO talented. We had so much fun and can’t wait to see the photos.
